Josephine Nyirakubanza is a strong and dedicated mother, a wife to Nsabimana Boniface, and 'saved' Catholic. Josephine was born in 1953 to Ndagiriye and Nyirarubyiruka of Gatsibo Village, Bunagana Town Council, Kisoro District. She was the 8th child among the 11 children born to the couple above and the 5 of the 7 girls from the same family.

Nyirakubanza got married at a litte-bit young age of about 17 to Nsabimana Boniface, and together they moved to DRC where they lived about 13 years before returning and permanently settling in Uganda.
